Student Testimonials

We encourage learning for learning's sake by using skill-based, standards-aligned rubrics and final evaluation forms (see below). These rubrics are used to clarify expectations and are discussed when each assignment is introduced.

We highly encourage instructors to add corresponding skill-sets and standards to their syllabi. At the end of the course, students receive a portfolio of their work, which contains a variety of completed rubrics.

WCATY Rubrics:

Rubric for Oral Presentation

5th & 6th Grade Responses

Rubric for Essay Writing

7th & 8th Grade Responses

Rubric for Research Paper

How to recognize students who will benefit from District Co-ops

Students who participate in the course must be self-motivated and directed. Since a large portion of the learning takes place online, students must be willing to work with the instructor as well as independently.

Students should expect assignments and activities during each week of the program as they would in a regular class. The students' work will be evaluated by the instructor and assessments will be sent to the classroom teacher.
