Design build - A digital video production studio - It's YouTube on steroids!
Two interns will take on the task of designing and building a digital video studio for ETC to produce training, promotional and corporate video content. The task will involve research and design of audio and video systems - including the design of the physical studio (probably a converted office space!) and design of lighting system. A secondary task will (hopefully) include the construction of the space and installation of the equipment. If you manage to get all that done - you can produce your own video!
|
|
Environmental Impact of Information Technology
Interns will perform a cost-benefit analysis of available "green" technologies including server virtualization, the move to more energy-efficient computers (laptops vs. desktops), and an examination of desktop power settings and policies. A proposal including project findings and recommendations will be created and presented.
|
|
Web 2.0 Technologies in a Corporate Environment
Interns will research "Web 2.0" technologies (wikis, blogs, social networking applications) and how they may be applied to ETC's corporate environment. They will explore available solutions, create a project proposal, and implement a prototype system.
|
|
Analysis of Advanced Ergonomic Work Stations
Two interns will examine selected key workspaces in our facility. They will develop processes to evaluate and compare performance of competitive ergonomic tools, station designs, lighting and other applications at ETC. Interns will have a chance to create and implement innovative designs to improve employee comfort, productivity and well-being. Interns will also create and present a report of project findings and recommendations.

and owner Peter Robertson fell in love with the food of Italy. He began studying
traditional fresh pasta and began making authentic fresh pasta on his own. Today,
RP's makes pasta at its facility on East Wilson Street in Madison, Wisconsin,
using a meticulous hand-rolled process to produce pastas of the highest quality.
RP's operates a retail store on-site, sells at summer farmers markets, and distributes
its products to dozens of restaurants and grocery stores in the Upper Midwest. Robertson
teaches classes on the history of pasta, cooking with pasta and sauces, and the nutritional
