Carole Trone
President - ext. 110
Carole, President, holds an undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University in Connecticut and a master's and doctoral degree in Educational Policy Studies from UW-Madison, with a special focus on the history of education. Carole has worked in academic library and in higher education administration, as an adjunct faculty member in the UW-Madison School of Education, and as a consultant for various non-profit agencies and university foundations.

Rebecca Vonesh
Program Director (District Co-ops) - ext. 111
Rebecca, Program Director of District Co-ops, has dabbled in the details of classroom culture in a variety of school settings and has taught Literature, English, history, debate, theater and an art class. Her experience in the classroom complements the thematic approach that WCATY uses throughout co-ops. Years of working with and exploring the boundaries of online communication, also enables Rebecca to assist the wonderful WCATY instructors as they build a truly unique web community.

Scott Lein
Program Director (Summer Programs) - ext. 112
Scott, Program Director-Summer Programs, has taught at UW-Madison and in Madison and Verona public schools, implementing a number of summer school and after-school programs. A nearly 10-year Madison resident, his background with gifted children has been through mainstream classes and summer enrichment courses.

Kate Schommer
Bookkeeper/Office Assistant - ext. 128
Kate, Bookkeeper and Office Assistant, comes to WCATY with years of experience doing bookkeeping and accounting in a wide variety of settings. She is a strong supporter of the WCATY mission, and is pleased to have joined the team here. Kate has lived in Madison for more than eight years, and is a native of Stevens Point.

Lia Vellardita
Media and Resources Librarian - ext. 114
Lia, Media and Resources Librarian, has a Bachelors degree in English-Creative Writing and a Masters degree in Library and Information Science, both from UW-Madison. She has worked in an array of library settings and positions including as a teaching assistant for online library courses, as an assistant youth services librarian for Chicago Public Library and as the Intellectual Freedom Services Coordinator at the Cooperative Children's Book Center.
